Kacey Velazquez is a seasoned vocal coach, songwriter, and recording artist from New York City. Kacey has been involved in the arts her whole life, getting her start in musical theatre. When she was just thirteen years old, she began songwriting, recording, and performing her original music at acclaimed venues in New York City including The Bitter End, 54 Below, The Cutting Room, The Astor Room, and the St. George Theatre.

In addition to 10+ years of professional private voice instruction in New York City, Kacey studied classical, musical theater, and gospel music at esteemed LaGuardia High School (The Fame School) in Manhattan. She also completed songwriting and music business intensives at NYU Steinhardt and NYU Tisch. Kacey went on to study pop, R&B, and soul at Berklee College of Music, and graduated with a degree in Music Business.

Kacey moved to Nashville in 2017 and worked in various areas of the music industry including marketing, A&R, publishing, and artist management in companies including Big Machine Label Group and BMG. She is also involved in the Nashville songwriting community and has performed at renowned venues in Nashville including The Listening Room and The High Watt.

Kacey is also a successful recording artist (see Kacey V), having released music that has amassed thousands of streams across all platforms and garnered praise from fans to industry veterans alike.

Kacey has been a vocal coach for years, working with singers of all ages from beginners to professionals in the music industry. In 2018, Kacey completed New York Vocal Coaching’s Voice Teacher Training & Certification. She continues to collaborate on projects with NYVC founder Justin Stoney and serve the singing community.

Justin Stoney is the Founder of New York Vocal Coaching and an internationally-recognized Voice Teacher and Vocal Coach. He is also the host of “Voice Lessons To The World” and the author of “Sing Like Never Before."

One of the leading Voice Teachers in today’s music industry, Mr. Stoney has appeared on NBC, CBS, ABC, MTV, Fox News, Huffington Post Live, and Fox 5 New York. His teaching has also been featured in publications such as The New York Times, Esquire Magazine, Newsweek/The Daily Beast, SELF, NME, Fox News Magazine, Discovery News, Medical Daily, UK’s Daily Mail, Tech Times, and Backstage Magazine. Backstage readers also voted Mr. Stoney as one of New York City’s best Voice Teachers and Vocal Coaches.

Mr. Stoney’s celebrity clients include Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award-winning artists. His clients have collectively won an EGOT. Notably, Justin worked with Tony Shalhoub in preparation for his Tony Award-winning performance in The Band’s Visit

Justin’s pop/rock/R&B clients have reached #1 on Billboard Charts, have had international radio airplay, and have signed with major record labels including Universal, RCA, Sony, EMI, and Disney Records. His clients include recording artists, bands, celebrities, and singer/songwriters who have toured in the US and internationally. Contemporary artists have also appeared as finalists on The Voice, American Idol, and X-Factor after working with Justin.

Mr. Stoney’s theatre clients have appeared in leading and ensemble roles in nearly every Broadway musical in the last decade. A few highlights include: The Band’s Visit, Book of Mormon, Beautiful, Chicago, Hamilton, Lion King, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, Phantom Of The Opera, Spring Awakening, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Waitress, and Wicked. Aside from Broadway and Off-Broadway work, Justin’s clients have also appeared at the Lincoln Center, New York City Opera, London’s West End, and in several major motion pictures and network television shows.

Mr. Stoney is devoted not just to training singers, but also to training and mentoring other Voice Teachers.
